The Washington Worker Retraining (WRT) Program helps dislocated and unemployed workers reskill and re-enter the workforce in high-demand careers.
Funded by the State General Fund and managed by the Washington State Board for Community and Technical Colleges (SBCTC),
this program provides:
• Tuition coverage at participating Private Career Schools & Colleges (PCSCs).
• Job-ready training for in-demand industries.
• Pathway to economic recovery through skill-based education.
Program End Date: June 30, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
If you're a Washington State resident, you may be eligible under these categories:
1. Dislocated Workers – Laid off, on UI benefits, or with a layoff notice.
2. Displaced Homemakers – Lost financial support (within 24 months).
3. Formerly Self-Employed – Business closed due to economic or natural disaster.
4. Unemployed Veterans – Separated from the military (within 48 months).
5. Active Duty Transition – Leaving service with a separation notice.
6. Expanded Eligibility – In a declining industry, needing new skills, or missing 45+ college credits/certification.
7. Stop-Gap Workers – In low-wage jobs while training.
